World-Reach is the missions' arm of Christ Church. The goal of our program is to strategically “take the gospel to all nations” by meeting felt-needs (Matt. 28:19). The call to serve the global community is an outgrowth of our corporate objective to Unite People to God and People to People. In 2000, we expanded upon this goal by underscoring the importance of meeting the basic needs of humanity worldwide. As a result, World-Reach was established as a means of reflecting God's heart for the world through our active participation in global missions.
Vision
World-Reach has a strategic plan to establish missionary influences in over 100 countries and to foster a missionary presence on every populated continent within the next five years.
Mission Focus
Our mission program is built on four pillars:
1. Sharing the gospel
2. Meeting basic needs (i.e. relief aid, medical care, etc.)
3. Leadership training
4. Facilitating reconciliation across racial, cultural and ethnic lines
Philosophy of Missions
World-Reach defines missions as any cross-cultural endeavor that fulfills the Great Commission of Jesus Christ which commands us to “go therefore, and teach all nations” (Matt. 28:19). Thus, in accordance with biblical Scripture, World-Reach is eager to mobilize its resources in response to Christ's command through its four-pronged approach:
Sharing The Gospel - The gospel message is the foundation of all our efforts. This message of God's love—providing salvation, eternal peace, and offering a wholesome, God-directed lifestyle—separates what we do from other humanitarian or philanthropic acts of service. Our work of demonstrating and communicating the gospel will always serve as a motivating factor for our missions programs.
Meeting Basic Needs - World-Reach is committed to meeting the basic needs of humanity by providing medical assistance and through other supportive means. We model our missions programs based on the life of Jesus Christ in meeting the natural needs of people in every conceivable way.
Leadership Training - We are committed to the development and ongoing training of existing and emerging leaders worldwide. Due to this commitment, Dr. David Ireland and other leaders offer “Transformational Leadership” workshops, seminars, and conferences in various churches, organizations, and businesses around the world.
Facilitating Reconciliation - We have a solid commitment to restoring relationships. World-Reach deems it necessary to invest in equipping people to reconcile racial, cultural, and ethnic differences among people groups around the world. This investment is made by providing them with the knowledge, tools, and resources that are vital to reconciliation.
Each prong of this four-part plan is designed to impact the Five Sectors of Society, listed below.
The Five Sectors of Society Model
The Five Sectors of Society Model classifies five key areas of society that churches and organizations should consider when their goal is to impact a society—whether locally or abroad. The five sectors are:
-
Religious -
Family -
Educational -
Business & Economic -
Government & Political
As part of its effectiveness, the Church seeks to influence and impact each of these sectors.
World-Reach exists to impact the Five Sectors of Society throughout the world. These five sectors are meaningful to every society. Therefore, a comprehensive understanding of the challenges and strengths of each sector within various nations must be pursued. People all over the world are affected by societal challenges within the economic and business sectors around them, as well as by ongoing political, educational, religious, and family challenges.
We use care in offering our assistance to countries outside of the United States as our intention is to foster unity and bridge cultural and spiritual gaps. As part of our commitment to appropriately serve the five sectors in other countries, World-Reach regularly partners with various organizations and political leaders to facilitate collaborative relationships.
